Giving Tuesday - December 1, 2020

Today is the last day of our Giving Tuesday fundraiser. What an amazing outpouring of support! Our thanks go out to our supporters in Greenville and surrounding areas. Because of the amazing response of nearly 100 businesses and individuals who gave from their hearts, not only did we meet our goal of $40,000, but we exceeded it! While we are still accepting donations, our current campaign total is $42,353! We are truly humble and grateful for all the love and support we received from the community. This community has always supported us and without your support we could not continue to do what we do here at Community Crossroads Center. Many of us have been affected by this year’s pandemic. That is why we are extra thankful for the support we have received. Because of you we will be able to continue to help the most vulnerable members of our community. The money raised by this concerted effort will go toward sheltering and providing for those who are homelessness. We may never be able to eradicate homelessness, but together we can continue to work towards making it rare, brief, and non-recurring.

Giving Tuesday

Nonprofit organizations in Pitt County and around the world are asking people to remember them this holiday season, particularly on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2020.After Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes “Giving Tuesday”, a global day dedicated to giving back. The day was created in 2012 in response to the spike in consumerism following Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesday marks the beginning of the charitable season, encouraging people to give to organizations, charities, and initiatives that are doing good in their communities. In 2017, #GivingTuesday raised an estimated $274 million for nonprofits in the United States alone, in 2018, nearly $400 million was raised and in 2019, nearly $511 million was raised!Community Crossroads Center of Pitt County (CCC) is participating in its’ fourth Giving Tuesday. For the past three years, the Greenville-Pitt County community has incrementally given more to CCC on Giving Tuesday and for that we are so thankful. We hope that momentum continues this year despite the challenges of 2020. CCC has been through hard times before. Thanks to the generous and ongoing support of our community, the doors of the Center have remained open for 12,000 consecutive nights through hurricanes, floods, economic disasters and now a pandemic. COVID has impacted most every aspect of life and CCC operations are no different. We recognize COVID has presented financial challenges for many, so we are extra grateful for everyone's support during these times. Community Crossroads Center of Pitt County has set a goal of $40,000 to be raised on Giving Tuesday, which this year falls on December 1, 2020.Today, Community Crossroads Center is excited to announce that the following donors have pledged a total of $15,000 in match money to help us serve the homeless:

Pecheles Automotive: $5000.00Ward & Smith, P.A.: $5000.00Anonymous donor: $5000.00

The challenge is for the community to match the $15,000 offered by these passionate donors. Every dollar donated between December 1, 2020 and December 8, 2020, up to $15,000, will be matched by these donors. A $25 donation turns into $50. A $250 donation turns into $500. A $500 donation turns into $1000!Please help Community Crossroads Center head into 2021 with a solid financial foundation. With your help and assistance, we can make this happen. Community Crossroads Center depends on the community to keep their doors open. Please share our Giving Tuesday announcement on social media, encourage your friends, family members, church members, and co-workers alike to make a match donation to Community Crossroads Center before the Giving Tuesday campaign ends on December 8, 2020.Donations can be made directly online at www.communitycrossroadscenter.org through PayPal, you can drop off a donation in person to the CCC office (address below), or send a check to:Community Crossroads Center207 Manhattan AvenueGreenville NC 27834Visit our website and follow our social media on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word about CCC.
