Tyler sharing his gifts.[/caption]This is Tyler and he just celebrated his 8th birthday. The theme of his birthday party was Harry Potter and he asked all of his guests to bring socks for those in need instead of gifts for him. He was emulating Harry’s generosity to “Dobby”. For those of you who may not be familiar with the Harry Potter books, “Dobby” was a house servant who was given dignity and set free when Harry devised a way for him to get a sock. It is a lovely part of the book demonstrating the power of love, empathy, acceptance of others and the inherent dignity of all creatures. Tyler and his mother brought the socks to the center the day before Thanksgiving. They are members of St. James church. Thank you Tyler for the loving example you set for all of us.
