A local organization, ReLeaf, Inc., was recently provided a grant to help beautify our center. Approximately 30 volunteers gave their time as part of this grant to plant 42 small and large trees around the center.

There are hundreds of grants given every year to organizations and companies in order to help local non-profits in their areas. ReLeaf's mission is unique, however: to reduce the disappearance of trees along streets, to increase the use of trees in parking areas, to develope landscaping, and to educate the public about the value of trees. ReLeaf planted trees such as maples, pines, and shrubs as part of their service work. Their work proves that when you gather volunteers together who are passionate about their community and helping people, large projects can be accomplished extremely fast. This project has beautified our center, which in turn brings happiness to our residents as well as our staff. Our center is dedicated to helping those who have no place to lay their head down at night. This project is proof that offering relief from homelessness can happen in many forms, however. Donations are the only way we are able to keep our doors open to help those who have so little, but donations come in many forms. Donations of time, supplies, and money are what keep this organization helping the homeless of Greenville. Many of our guests need a relief from what is going on in their lives and need to be surrounded by those who care about them and want to help them. Remember, they are mothers, fathers, children, brothers and sisters and homelessness can happen to anyone.Take the time today to find out how you can help!
