We are looking for individuals who can help cook breakfast and can supervise several residents during the cleanup process. We are also looking for individuals that can help with the purchase of the food items and organize a nutritious regular weekly menu schedule. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us, stop by our office at 207 Manhattan Avenue, or download a volunteer application and send it to: vc@greenvillecommunityshelter.org.Volunteering doesn't just help us, it helps you, too. Whether you are seeking work experience, or just the satisfaction of helping another human being, volunteering can fill a place in your heart that other activities don't. According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, volunteering can benefit volunteers in the following ways:

  • Health benefits
  • A sense of belonging to a community
  • Meeting new people
  • Developing new social connections
  • Feeling a sense of purpose

Without our volunteers, our shelter would quite simply cease to function. We depend on the generosity and compassion of ordinary people just like you.
