Unmasking Hunger: CCC Receives Award from Local Sorority
Bob Williams receives the "Unmasking Hunger Award" from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated

On the 19th of March 2016, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Iota Kappa Omega Chapter had a Masquerade Ball to “Unmask Hunger.” Community Crossroads Center was one of two recipients of the “Unmasking Hunger Award.” We were selected for the award because we help house local men, women, and children in need of food and shelter 365 days per year at a very low cost. The “Unmasking Hunger Award” will continue to not only provide shelter for the night, but also provide a place where people can regroup, receive guidance, and work on obtaining a more secure future.We are honored to be recognized as part of the solution to help overcome hunger in our community. Without our services, there would be no place for those who cannot make ends meet. Local community members who cannot avoid a place to live would have to live on the streets. It is safe to say that most people in our community would rather help to provide a place for those who are less fortunate rather than have them trapped outside or roaming the streets where any given unfortunate accident could happen to them. Remember that you can help house somebody for the night for a small donation of $25. At CCC, we help people turn their lives around by giving them hope and a desire for a better quality of life.
