Sponsor Spotlight: Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, and The Fresh Market

Local sponsors Lowes Foods, Harris Teeter, and The Fresh Market donate much needed items to The Greenville Community Shelter. This months sponsor spotlight would not be possible without the help of these local stores.Every Thursday Lowes Foods shares with the shelter any breads and desserts they have left over from the previous day. Harris Teeter on Charles Boulevard will call at least once a month when they have dairy products to share. Items such as eggs, milk, ice cream and yogurt. The Fresh Market shares about 60-70 pounds of seasonal coffee with us about every quarter. Think of us as a 78 bed hotel and you can see how many of these items we go through each day.We Salute these local businesses for their contribution to the battle against homelessness in our local community and nation. They are an example to us all.

There are many ways to give back to the homeless community. At the Greenville Community Shelter you can help by simply donating a few common household items, heres a few ways to help the homeless, including:

  • volunteering your time by helping to serve meals, clean, or perform office duties
  • offering professional services such as advertising, web design, or building maintenance
  • organizing a fundraising drive such as our coin banks

Keep a look out for our next sponsor spotlight from the community! If you'd like to donate items to the Greenville Community Shelter feel free to stop in and donate or give us a call.
