High School Fundraising Drive

The Vikings of DH Conley High School recently gave us a call saying they had a donation they’d like to make to the shelter. When the check arrived for the coins the high school students had collected, the total reached was $785.00. This project was a school wide effort which allowed them to give back to the homeless community. It always amazes us how small change can make such a big difference when many participate. Our budget is 80% funded by individuals, businesses, and churches. Donations cover insurance, salaries, utilities, maintenance, repairs and when possible funds to help those who need a one-time monetary gift that keeps them from actually becoming homeless. There are many ways you can serve the homeless community. At the Greenville Community Shelter you can give back by organizing a fundraising drive using our coin banks. Our house-shaped coin banks are an innovative way to collect donations for us. Are you a small business, school, church or family who likes a challenge? Why not stop by to pick up coin banks or call us and we’ll deliver them and see if you can do even better? How much can your organization collect to fight homelessness in one week?We continue to be thankful for our local community and the work they do to give back to us at the Greenville Community Shelter. Your generosity allows us to help others help themselves.
