Pirates Promoting Community Wellness Serve Breakfast to the Homeless

On Friday, January 19th, the ECU student group Pirates Promoting Community Wellness served breakfast to the homeless residents of the Center. Every morning, volunteers serve breakfast to the dozens of residents of the Community Crossroads Center. These volunteers include ECU students, church members, members of civic organizations, and other ordinary people.

Serve Breakfast to the Homeless or Volunteer Some Other Way

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact us, stop by our office at 207 Manhattan Street or download a volunteer application, page three of this document must be completed by the Greenville Police Department, and send it to: vc@greenvillecommunityshelter.org. Or you may bring it by the office Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm. Volunteers start our day here at the shelter each morning at 6 o’clock, Monday thru Friday, to cook breakfast for the residents. On average, we feed 50-55 people each morning. We use disposable plates, cups, napkins, bowls, forks, knives, and spoons, which are donated by individuals, businesses, and churches. Our day ends with volunteers serving a hot dinner to our residents prepared with love and care by many churches, individuals, and businesses.
