It’s that time of the year again, come out and support Crossroads Community Center at our annual medieval festival and fundraiser, Homeless Knights, on April 3rd from 6-8 pm at the Greenville Country Club. Admission is free, but we will be hosting a live and a silent auction, including two 1- to help meet our goal of raising $30,000 for our residents. Donations will be accepted for any amount of money no matter how small, but a donation of $25 covers the cost of one residents night at the shelter. We would like to give a very special thanks to Brian Brown and his wife for donating the venue and food. Sticking with the medieval theme, there will be a glass blower a juggler and stockades you can donate you or your friends way out of. It will be a night of fun, dancing and fundraising topped off by a cash bar.Last year’s fundraiser, Homeless Knights, was held on May 23rd, at the Dickinson Avenue Public House, and was a huge success thanks to all who came out to support. Many people dressed according to the medieval theme, taking all in attendance back in time. The event was filled with authentic medieval music, and after a short address given by our directors, the night was capped off with fellowship between supporters of the shelter and those who wanted to enjoy a night out. A special certificate of Knighthood was given to those who made a donation of $25 or more, and with these donations and many more, we raised thousands of dollars that will directly help the homeless in our community. All purchases made at the fundraiser will help us continue to provide day-to-day activities for the shelter, such as food, a place to stay, and job assistance.
